Data Quality Assessment
To ensure data quality, national EMIS needs to establish a data quality system, complete with a data quality approach to standardize the data, provide definitions and establish data naming conventions. This is especially useful when data are transferred from one level to another, for example, from national to subnational to schools or from subnational to national. Such a system should identify quality requirements and criteria; key EMIS processes and their sequence and interaction; the policies; and the criteria and methods for defining, detecting, correcting and preventing nonconformity.
